Now
What am I doing these days? This now page has the answer.
Updated: April 2026.
Market Chemistry
I'm running Market Chemistry, where we help startup founders land investments by connecting them with their best-match investors. The fundraising landscape keeps shifting. Some VC firms are meeting founders but not writing checks, and learning to read those signals can save founders months of wasted effort.
One of the things I've been writing about most this spring is why fundraising takes longer than first-time founders expect, and three questions every founder should ask investors before they sign anything. Most people sell their vision, never their fit with the investor. That's where deals quietly die.
Behind the scenes I've been watching the rise of VC-backed equity crowdfunding, which climbed from 7% to over 21% of raises between 2022 and 2025. February 2026 was a brutal month for crowdfunding too: weak campaigns got weeded out fast while strong ones kept attracting capital.
I've also been thinking about the downsides of being oversubscribed, and how overselling your vision is the fastest way to kill a deal. Investors want founders who are honest about the hard stuff and have a plan to address it.
Automation
I just automated a week of research into 20 minutes using getviktor.com. Pulling new filings, filtering for strong-fit raises, enriching companies with contact and funding context, and drafting outreach now happens before 9am every Monday. Time we can spend on actual judgment instead of manual data work.
Advising and Strategy
I'm advising early-stage companies, including WICKED Protein, on marketing and fundraising strategy. A lot of my thinking lately centers on the difference between strategy and tactics and how many founders confuse the two. Strategic choices are foundational. Tactical decisions are about execution. Getting that distinction right changes everything.
Personal
My wife and I got married in 2024 and celebrated with a fire dancer and a live paella cook. We live in Austin with our dog, Echo. I've been spending a lot of time on the racquet sports courts, and I recently crossed "ride a hot air balloon" off my bucket list. Always looking for the next memorable experience.
